Since the beginning of history, mankind has turned to nature to provide for necessities. When societies formed and leisure time was available, the natural world was where men found the supplies needed to create beautiful objects. They used rocks, sand and clay to create many objects. When it came time to decorate them, ancient men found that the minerals, plants and animals around them could supply the ingredients to create colors. This is how the world of art began, and it is little wonder that men have chosen throughout history to glorify the natural world.
